This week, I will celebrate my 58th birthday with my husband, family and dear friends around me, and I want you to join me in celebrating the holiday season and meet the small group of folks that took the spark of their conversations and turned it a roaring bonfire of light and service.
I know I can't solve the world's problems, but I can buy a LLAMA. I am a llama mama! And you can be too - donate at least $10 to Something New and you'll get your own little llama!
Something New, founded in 2005, exists with one primary goal: to love people. The secondary purpose, served by their non-profit's name, honors their mission by always being ready for something new.
Two years ago, they went international with their first global project serving abused and abandoned mothers and children in Peru. The group now supports approximately ten mothers and 30 children who are now living safely free from violence and fighting and looking ahead at a better life for themselves and their children for something new themselves.
This holiday season, your gift will directly impact these mothers and their children by:
"None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful." -Mother Teresa
